Katie Holmes never wrote a tell-all book about Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise, despite a report a year ago. Exactly 365 days ago, one of the tabloids claimed the actress planned to dish on her life in a memoir. Gossip Cop busted the untrue story at the time, and now it’s clear our reporting was correct.
“Katie’s $8 Million Tell-All,” blared the cover of Star on June 7, 2017. The magazine alleged Holmes and Cruise had a five-year confidentiality agreement as part of their divorce settlement that was due to expire in July, freeing the “Dawson’s Creek” star to speak publicly about their failed marriage. A supposed insider asserted Holmes would use her book to reveal how Scientology led to the “unraveling” of their relationship, including the “breaking point” that prompted her to leave Cruise and file for divorce. The outlet also promised she would confess why the actor has gone years without seeing their daughter, Suri.
In regards to Foxx, the publication’s alleged source claimed Holmes would explain how he “helped her find love again,” and detail the “positive part Jamie has played in her life.” And where did the $8 million figure come from? The tabloid had no book contract to point to. Rather, the magazine and its unnamed “insiders” were merely predicting that a memoir from Holmes could “fetch” that much. But a rep for the actress exclusively told Gossip Cop on the record that it was “false” she planned to pen a tell-all book.
And not only did July come and go without Holmes spilling on her marriage to Cruise, but a full 12 months have gone by without Holmes releasing a memoir. In fact, there hasn’t even been any kind of an announcement about a forthcoming tome. What’s more, though, is that she has still yet to publicly speak about either Cruise or Foxx, despite doing a number of interviews and making television appearances.
For instance, Holmes did an in-depth interview for the April 2018 Woman’s Health cover story, speaking about her upbringing, her career and raising Suri. At no point did she discuss her love life. Similarly, Holmes was a large part of Entertainment Weekly‘s March cover story on “Dawson’s Creek.” Again she did not mention her significant others. Additionally, as IMDB shows, over the last year Holmes also stopped by chat-focused TV programs, like “Today” and “The Tonight Show,” but never once focused on her personal life, or said anything about putting out her own book.
Even a search for “Katie Holmes” on Amazon brings up hundreds of results, including multiple books about her, but none written by Holmes herself. Just as Gossip Cop rightly said a year ago, Star was 100 percent wrong: Holmes had no intention of writing a tell-all book. And, we should add, we’re told she still doesn’t.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
