Kate Winslet Going Overboard On Botox And Fillers?

Kate Winslet isn’t overloading on Botox, fillers or any other cosmetic procedures, despite a tabloid story. It’s just another lazy plastic surgery rumor about an actress. Gossip Cop can correct the claims.

NW, however, insists the actress has gone on a “titanic filler frenzy.” The tabloid acknowledges Winslet’s history of criticizing plastic surgery and her repeated denials of ever undergoing any cosmetic procedures, but immediately dismisses those factors on account of “sources.” The tabloid never identifies these sources or their relationship to Winslet.

“Word is that she’s been getting a lot more work done lately,” one of these alleged sources tells the magazine. “Kate swore she’d never become a Hollywood victim, but the reality is that she’s under major pressure to look perfect and youthful. There’s talk she’s been overdoing it on the Botox, fillers and laser work.”

The magazine even calls the actress’s most recent appearance “suspiciously line-free.” As evidence, the publication points to a fan saying Winslet “had work done.” The tabloid doesn’t specify who this fan is or if they even saw Winslet in real life. The supposedly “line-free” appearance was actually from a series of paparazzi shots of Winslet leaving her Philadelphia hotel from October, so if this “fan” even exists, we doubt they saw anything other than an out-of-context photo provided by the tabloid.

The magazine then recognizes that Winslet herself has pointed out how she needs the full motion of her face in order to act, but again dismisses her own words for more quotes from the mysterious tipster. “It’s Kate’s right to do what she wants to herself, of course,” says the seemingly nonexistent tipster. “But everyone’s just hoping that she doesn’t take it too far.”

Of course, the tabloid is extremely vague in its actual claims. If Winslet really is “overdoing it” with procedures, what areas of her face look overdone? Is she getting fillers in her lips, cheeks, chin, temples, nose or somewhere else entirely? If it’s that obvious or known to the source, why can’t the outlet identify a single procedure instead of just saying she’s having some sort of work done?

As the tabloid notes, Winslet is adamantly against the idea of plastic surgery. “I have the kind of wrinkles that are here to stay now,” the actress told People magazine in 2015. “You know, not just the ones where you wake up in the morning and you go, ‘Oh, that will go away in two hours’ time.’ No, they’re there. That’s the way that it is.”

Gossip Cop would also like to point out that Winslet has served as a brand ambassador for the high-end cosmetics company Lancome for more than a decade. She’s had access to the best of the best in skincare and cosmetics for years. Plus, it’s in her and the company’s best interest to ensure that she looks as natural as possible. Winslet extensively detailed her routines and products in an interview with Vogue, also admitting that she’s had to seriously change the way she prepares for red carpet events as she gets older. Those changes, however, consist of watching her diet and hydration levels — not seeking out a surgeon.

Gossip Cop checked in with a trusted individual in the actress’s camp, who assures us the tabloid’s report is untrue. That’s not shocking, as NW has an abysmal track record when it comes to plastic surgery rumors. We called out the outlet last month for a ridiculous story about Nicole Kidman being “skin and bones” and binging on Botox. Gossip Cop also debunked the tabloid’s claims about Katie Holmes getting $75,000 worth of plastic surgery this past September. Winslet is just the latest actress being targeted.
