Jonah Hill has not been “crushing” on Emma Stone for years, despite a tabloid report claiming the actor considers her “the one who got away.” Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus premise. It’s simply not true.
Hill and Stone co-starred together in the 2007 comedy Superbad and recently reunited for the new Netflix series “Maniac.” According to OK!, the actor fell for the actress years ago, but could never find a way to pursue her. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Jonah’s always wanted to tell Emma how he felt about her, but the timing was never right, and truthfully, he was scared to do it.”
The outlet’s supposed source goes on to say that Hill has always considered Stone to be his “dream girl,” but once they started working together again on “Maniac,” the actor “realized that they have more of a brother-sister relationship than a romantic one.” The questionable tipster concludes, “But still, I think he’ll always carry a torch for her.” The unreliable magazine fails to mention that Hill has been dating stylist Gianna Santos for several months and their relationship appears to be getting increasingly serious.
Regardless, Stone and Hill have been friends for more than a decade, but their relationship has always been platonic. The actor told “Entertainment Tonight” at the red carpet premiere of “Maniac” in September, “We’ve been friends for a decade, we worked together 12 years ago, and then we’ve been friends for that long.” Hill added, “I get to be friends with artists I really admire, that’s pretty amazing. And watching someone I’ve been friends with for so long become so gifted and so recognized is special.” The actor has a lot of admiration for his co-star, but their dynamic have never been romantic.
Meanwhile, Hill and Stone both gushed about their friendship in an interview with InStyle in September. The publication even noted, “It’s clear that they’ve stayed real, true pals over the years.” OK! is attempting to twist the situation by making it seem like the actor has been pining for Stone for more than a decade, but that’s simply not the case.
It’s also worth noting, the tabloid came up with the inverse of this phony premise earlier this year. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in February for wrongly reporting that Stone wanted to date Hill and was the one pursuing a romance with him on the set of their Netflix series. That bogus story, which doesn’t align with this latest one, was similarly fabricated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
